More than three little words.

Hi, I’m Lucy — author, speaker, behaviour change consultant and a big believer that where you start doesn’t have to decide where you finish.
For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with people, teams and organisations through challenge, change and transformation.
But my work isn’t only professional. It’s personal.
My own story taught me what it means to survive, rebuild and eventually turn pain into something powerful. Today, I bring together lived experience, professional expertise and a very human approach to create conversations that lead to real change.
Whether I’m working with a young person, challenging practice in children’s social care, supporting a team, speaking on stage or talking about Three Little Words, the thread running through everything I do is the same:
People are capable of more than what happened to them.
My Story
My journey started early.
At 11, three little words changed my life: “We believe you.”
What followed wasn’t a neat story of overcoming adversity. There were difficult years, wrong turns, survival mode and consequences that reached far beyond childhood.
But there was also a point when I realised I had a choice: I could keep living from what had happened to me, or I could begin understanding it.
That decision eventually led me into counselling, behaviour change and nearly two decades working within children’s services — turning lived experience into professional expertise.
Then came the thing I never expected to do.
I wrote the book.
Three Little Words tells the beginning of that story. The work I do today is about what can happen next.
What happened to you can be part of your story without becoming the end of it.
What I stand for
I believe one conversation can change a life.
I know that because one changed mine.
Whether I’m working with an individual, a team, an organisation or speaking to a room full of people, I bring the same things with me:
Honesty. Curiosity. Lived experience. Professional expertise. And a willingness to have the conversations that matter.
I’m not interested in pretending change is easy or offering quick fixes.
I’m interested in what actually helps people move forward.
Your past can explain you.
It doesn’t have to define you.
